Where the video comes from
Drop a video here, or
MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio plays everywhere. The file is copied into the package, so keep it under roughly 500 MB if your LMS has an upload cap.
Learners need internet access and their network must allow youtube.com. Watch time is tracked the same way as an uploaded file.
Your Vimeo privacy settings must allow embedding on any domain, or on your LMS domain - otherwise the preview and the exported package will both show a permissions error.
Paste the full link. For an unlisted or private video, paste the whole address - the part after the video number is needed to play it.
Captions
WebVTT or SubRip files. SubRip is converted when you add it. Captions are drawn by the player, so they look the same on uploaded and YouTube video.
Toggles captions inside YouTube’s or Vimeo’s own player, using whatever track the video owner already published there - nothing is downloaded or copied. If the video has none, the option simply does nothing when picked.

Player controls
Shows as “Connected to Acme Learning” instead of the SCORM version number. Leave blank for a plain “Connected”. Also fills in the {{lms}} wording tag.
On by default - good for reference videos or recaps that don’t need to be watched start to finish. Turn it off, or use the completion threshold on the Tracking step, for content where watching matters.
Custom CSS
Added last, so it overrides everything. Class names begin lr-.
What the LMS records
Standards to build
Tick more than one and you get one zip per standard. Moodle, Blackboard and Canvas all take SCORM 1.2 - pick that if you are not sure.
Only seconds actually played count, and each second counts once. Dragging to the end cannot complete the course.
xAPI and cmi5 settings
Leave the endpoint empty for normal launches - the LMS passes it in the launch link. Fill it in only when the package is opened directly from a web server.
Advanced
Identifies this course inside the SCORM manifest. Most LMSs use it to recognise a re-uploaded package as an update to the same course rather than a new one - so once a course is live somewhere, avoid changing this unless you mean to replace it with an unrelated one. Leave blank and LMSReel generates a stable one the first time you build.
Questions in the video
Scrub to a moment, add a question there. The video pauses for the learner, asks it, marks it right or wrong, and carries on. Every answer is reported to the LMS as a standard interaction record.
Add a video on step 1 to start placing questions.
Questions
No questions yet. Play the video above and add one where it matters.
Scoring and completion
Watch-time completion works exactly as before either way. These are additive - off by default, and safe to leave off if you just want the questions recorded without changing how the course completes.
Wording around the video
Basic HTML is allowed. Click a field, then a tag below to drop in a value the LMS supplies at run time.
Build the package
Upload to Moodle
- Turn editing on, then add an activity and choose SCORM package.
- Drop the zip into Package file.
- Under Appearance set Display package to New window if your theme squeezes the frame.
- Under Grade choose Highest grade if you ticked the score option.
