1. Who we are
LMSReel is built and provided by Brett International, based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what happens to data when you use the LMSReel authoring tool at lmsreel-standalone.html and when you visit this website.
2. How LMSReel handles your data
LMSReel is a single-page tool that runs entirely inside your web browser. There is no server behind it that receives your video, your course text, your branding, or your questions. When you open the tool, edit a course and export a package, all of that processing happens on your own device using your browser's built-in capabilities.
In practical terms: we do not receive, store, or have access to the videos, captions, branding assets, or questions you add while building a course. There is nothing for us to hand over, lose, or misuse, because it never reaches us.
This also means we cannot recover a course for you if you close the tab before exporting, since we never had a copy to begin with. Save your exported package somewhere safe once you're done.
3. Video from your files or YouTube
You can build a course from a video file on your own device, or from a YouTube video you link to.
- Your own file: stays on your device throughout. It is read directly by your browser and is not transmitted anywhere by LMSReel.
- YouTube: if you use a YouTube video, your browser communicates directly with YouTube to play and preview it, both while you're building the course and later when a learner watches it. That exchange is between your browser and YouTube, governed by Google's privacy policy, not by us.
4. Data inside an exported package
The SCORM or xAPI package you export is designed to report learner activity, such as progress, time spent, quiz answers and completion status, back to whichever LMS the package is uploaded to. That reporting happens between the learner's browser and your organisation's LMS directly.
Brett International is not a party to that connection and does not receive or store any learner data from courses built with LMSReel. Your organisation, as the operator of the LMS, is responsible for how it handles the data its LMS receives from learners.
5. Data collected by this website
This marketing website does not use tracking cookies or analytics. It loads two typeface files from Google Fonts, which involves your browser making a request to Google's servers to fetch those fonts; Google's own privacy policy applies to that request.
If you email us at support@brettinternational.com, we'll hold that correspondence, and any details you choose to share in it, for as long as needed to answer you and keep a reasonable record of the exchange.
6. Our legal basis and role under UK GDPR
Because LMSReel does not transmit your course content or your learners' data to us, Brett International does not act as a data controller or data processor for that content. Where we do handle personal data, such as an email you send us, our legal basis is legitimate interest in responding to and maintaining a record of that communication.
If your organisation needs a data processing agreement covering LMSReel as part of your own compliance review, get in touch. Given the architecture described above, we expect that conversation to be short.
7. Data retention
We don't hold course content or learner data, so there's nothing to retain or delete on that front. Email correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to support you and meet our own record-keeping obligations.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have rights to access, correct, delete, or ask us to stop using personal data we hold about you. In most cases that data will simply be an email exchange with us, since we don't otherwise hold your data. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), if you believe your data has been mishandled.

If we change what this website or LMSReel does with data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
